Elective: English Through Multimedia

English Skills through Multimedia is a twice weekly elective course designed to provide a space for students to develop and practice the four language skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking, through a variety of mediums. The term Multimedia refers to recently popularized mediums, such as: blogs, video documentaries, film, video editing software etc., as well as more traditional medium such as magazine texts, essays and music. Students will develop tasks such as: developing their own blog, writing a magazine article, preparing a presentation, filming their own video, and participating in debates. The themes of the course are diverse and focus on a variety of cultural aspects such as: globalization, city attractions, graffiti art, immigration, tattoo culture, and film.
